For the contribution to the development of the nation and the unity of citizens, the Church of God received the Presidential Citation, the Presidential Group Citation, and the Medal of Merit from three Presidents of the Republic of Korea: President Kim Dae-jung in 2003, President Roh Moo-hyun in 2004, and President Park Geun-hye in 2015.<ref name="대통령상" /> It is very unusual for a religious organization to receive the Presidential Group Citation. It was the result of highly praised efforts from the members of the Church of God in the areas of marine disaster relief and marine environment protection activities across many years.
