God the Father (Jehovah)
God the Father is one of the three persons of the Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
According to the biblical doctrine of the Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are fundamentally one and the same God, but the names by which He works differ according to each age.[1] Before Jesus Christ came into the world, the name of God who worked in the Age of the Father was Jehovah. In the Old Testament, expressions such as “the God of Israel, Jehovah” and “the Lord of hosts, Jehovah” appear frequently.[2][3][4][5]
Two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ referred to God the Father Jehovah as “our Father in heaven”[6] and taught His disciples to address Him in this way.
