In some versions of the Bible, “advocate” is rendered as “helper.” It is because the Greek word for both helper and advocate is ''parakletos''. While Jesus was on earth as the ''Parakletos'', He taught the truth to the disciples so that they could enter the kingdom of heaven. Even later, when Jesus was in heaven, he defended them before the Father as the ''Parakletos''.
